What is a "Medley"? Is it contagious?
Medleys is the University of Melbourne medical revue – the longest running revue on campus! Although there had been previous shows run by the medical students, it was not until 1915 where the first "Medical Medleys" was performed to raise funds for the Red Cross to go towards the World War I effort. Each year since, a collection of (mostly) medical students have been putting on a show for our fellow students and friends for a night of laughs and enjoyment.
The only thing contagious about it is the fun! Well, that and the scabies.

I’m intrigued. Tell me more, mysterious talking website!
Each show is part sketch comedy, and part musical, but all written and performed by the cast. We keep our shows free from any medical references, no matter how humerus.
*cough*

Anyway. Our shows usually run for about 2hrs, split into two acts which each have several sketches and a half of the musical. The show is usually performed at Union House Theatre around late August/early September over three nights with our lovely accompanying band there to make us sound as awesome as we like to think we can be.
All of our proceeds from the ticket sales for the show go towards a different charity each year, as we like to spread our love around as much as we can.

Okay, I want in. How can I join?
If you’ve got a knack for writing/acting/singing, we’d love to have you on board!
If you have none of the above, we’d love to have you on board!
There are no auditions, no requirements and no expectations of any one who wants to join in the fun. All we ask is that you actually show up to our rehearsals held over the year so that you can get involved. We have weekly meetings down in the Common Room of the Medical Building every Friday at 5:15, but also have day camps and weekends away for "writing trips" a few times over the year to gently encourage a joke or two out of your head while having a good time away from study.
